Pop star Michael Jackson has died after suffering a massive heart attack.
The singer, who had been due to play a series of concerts at London's O2 arena, was taken to hospital in Los Angeles, California, after he was found not breathing following a suspected heart attack in his Bel Air home.
Celebrity website TMZ is reporting that Jackson suffered a cardiac arrest. Paramedics arrived on the scene and could not get a pulse.
Staff at the hospital were unable to resuscitate him.
The Thriller singer, aged 50, had been due to play a series of 50 comeback concerts at London's O2 arena, beginning on July 13 and running until March next year. Tickets had sold out within hours of going on sale.
The shows, originally due to begin on July 8, had been delayed by almost a week. Promoters insisted last month that the delay had nothing to do with his health.
